The Queer Narratives Festival (QNF) - Learn more about what we are fundraising for!

This event is coordinated by NoDivideKC, a wonderful nonprofit organization right here in Kansas City, MO that "uses the arts as a vehicle for stimulating social awareness, participation and community building. No Divide KC partners with Kansas City-based artists and organizations to create artistic events that are focused on the stories of underserved and misrepresented communities in Kansas City." (NoDivideKC's mission statement)

The Queer Narratives Festival specifically is "Kansas City’s multi-disciplinary queer arts festival focused on queer artists living and working in Kansas City or surrounding region. We center queer voices through performance, visual art, and community-centered programming. We are back for our 7th year, featuring a curated visual arts exhibition at Smalter Gallery and a one-day performance showcase at The Ship."

Get to Know the Cause

Artists can often struggle to find meaningful work that also helps to pay their bills -- The Queer Narratives Festival gives artists a meaningful opportunity, pays them, and raises awareness of the showcased artist to help them get more attention and ideally get more work! By supporting this project, you are directly making a positive impact on local queer artists and aiding them in building their careers!

Not only does your support mean a lot to the showcased artists, but it helps to fund this overall impactful event. It is becoming increasingly harder for small arts nonprofit organizations, especially those uplifting underrepresented communities, to get sufficient funding. Thankfully, the arts community, and the queer community, are strong and we have come together to support one another time and time again. Join our cause and help the arts and queer artists continue to thrive right here in Kansas City!
